About Bournemouth beach
Bournemouth beach is perhaps the biggest reason why people keep returning to this lovely seaside resort. It stretches over 7 miles, from neighbouring Christchurch to Sandbanks, where property prices are currently the fourth highest in the world. What makes this beach unique from many traditional British beaches is that Bournemouth beach is made up from fine golden looking sand and crystal clear sea water, which invites most people for a relaxing swim during warm weather.
Bournemouth beach is also one of Britain's safest beaches, having consistently won eight prestigious Blue Flag awards. This makes Bournemouth beach not only family friendly, it also shows the high standard of cleanliness and clear swimming water.
In the past three years, a total of 1.5 million cubic meters of sand has been dredged from Poole Harbour and off the Isle of Wight and replaced onto Bournemouth beach. The result of this was a beach that is now twice as wide as before and will cater for more happy sun worshippers.
Things to do on Bournemouth beach
